We are rolling out an alternative method of accessing your school's computer remotely called Chrome Remote Desktop, this works by having a client installed on your desktop and then accessing it via a web browser through your schools Google account.


The IT team need to set this up for you on a per account basis and has now done so for all relevant staff, please let us know if it hasn't been done for you yet and we will sort it for you ASAP.


Please note that with this method:

  • If you move classrooms we will need to reinstall and configure it for you
  • Your classroom PC must be left switched on
  • Upon first time set up you will be asked for a 6 digit pin which is used for access
  • Your screen won't be visible on the IWB or monitor if you have an active remote session


Instructions:



  • Click on the name of the device to start the connection, it will then ask you for your PIN and you can choose to remember it on your device:



  • This will then bring up your normal school's sign in page, enter your usual password and you will then be connected to your PC in your browser as if you were at school in your class / office:




Changing your PIN:



  • This must be done on the host device (the classroom or office computer) by IT Team remotely or in person.
