Step 1.
You may find that sometimes, when you transfer iPad / iPhone photos to your PC, the resulting file is a .heic which is currently unsupported by a lot of sites (including earwig, tapestry etc)
To remedy this, please change the following settings:
1.1)
- Go to Settings on the iPad.
- Scroll down, tap the Camera section and you're brought to another menu of options.
- Navigate to “Formats,” where you'll see two options under Camera Capture. Select “Most Compatible.”
- Please note, if you do not have this option then your iPad does not have the latest iOS updates, please contact us to assist further.

- On your iPhone or iPad Go to Settings > Photos.
- Scroll down to Transfer to Mac or PC and choose Automatic.
Please note: This setting will only work if you transfer the files using your USB cable and not via the files app!
Step 2.
- Plug the lighting cable into your computer and iPad.
- Ensuring the iPad is unlocked and at the home screen while the transfer is in progress. You will receive a prompt asking if you trust the device, you are required to click 'Trust'.
- On the computer navigate to 'This PC'. You will see 'Apple iPad' listed, within this directory, you will find your media files.
- You can select the media you would like to backup from the iPad and drag it to the directory of your choice to begin the transfer.
- Once completed, you can safely disconnect the lighting cable from the computer and iPad.
