Step 1.


You may find that sometimes, when you transfer iPad / iPhone photos to your PC, the resulting file is a .heic which is currently unsupported by a lot of sites (including earwig, tapestry etc)


To remedy this, please change the following settings:


1.1)
  • Go to Settings on the iPad.
  • Scroll down, tap the Camera section and you're brought to another menu of options.
  • Navigate to “Formats,” where you'll see two options under Camera Capture. Select “Most Compatible.”
    • Please note, if you do not have this option then your iPad does not have the latest iOS updates, please contact us to assist further.

2.1)

  • On your iPhone or iPad Go to Settings > Photos.
  • Scroll down to Transfer to Mac or PC and choose Automatic.



Please note: This setting will only work if you transfer the files using your USB cable and not via the files app!




Step 2.


  1. Plug the lighting cable into your computer and iPad.
  2. Ensuring the iPad is unlocked and at the home screen while the transfer is in progress. You will receive a prompt asking if you trust the device, you are required to click 'Trust'.
  3. On the computer navigate to 'This PC'. You will see 'Apple iPad' listed, within this directory, you will find your media files. 
  4. You can select the media you would like to backup from the iPad and drag it to the directory of your choice to begin the transfer.
  5. Once completed, you can safely disconnect the lighting cable from the computer and iPad.
